SOME NOTES ABOUT THE TABLE:
- The price per bottle is the average for the smallest number the company sell in a pack. Some sell individual bottles and others only in 2 or 3 packs. Most producers sell different size bottles, for this table, we selected the smallest bottles available, usually 4 or 5 ounces.
- The Reviews are from google. We did not use any reviews from the companies own website, as the accuracy of those reviews aren’t as trust worthy.
- The Green and Social Initiatives are somewhat subjective. It is based on the in house business practices, 3rd party certifications, and charitable causes supported by the company.
- The Material, is the material used for the bottle itself. Each bottle will contain other materials for the lid, nipple, or sleeve.
Below we will cover some of the basic things you should know before making your decision. We will keep is short and to the point, no fluff.

Baby Bottle Basics
Here are a few important things you should know before selecting the right non toxic baby bottle:
- NO PLASTICS!!!! Plastics can leach into food and are terrible for the environment
- Make sure it is BPA, BPS, and BPAF free, as these chemicals can cause hormonal imbalance and damage reproductive health.
- Choose a bottle without paint
- Stainless Steel and Glass are the best materials for the bottles. The verdict is still out on silicone.
- Most non toxic baby bottles made of stainless steel or glass will still have silicone nipples. A couple that we included on our list have rubber nipples.
Is Silicone Safe For Baby Products?
Silicone is toxic if absorbed in our bodies, However, the FDA says that food-grade silicone is safe and will not react with other materials. Because silicone is considered chemically stable, experts say it’s safe to use and likely not toxic.
When I went down the ‘is silicone safe’ rabbit hole, I found many articles claiming that 3 studies had proven that silicone will leach chemicals at high temperatures or with high fat substances like breast milk. None of those articles linked to the actual studies and I was unable to find anything official for any study concluding this.
I did find that food grade silicone shouldn’t be heated above 428 degrees Fahrenheit. Dishwashers usually heat at 130-140 degrees. So unless you are putting a blow torch to the silicone bottle before adding your organic formula, it should be okay.
That being said, sometimes as parents, the best path forward is ‘better safe than sorry’ and avoiding putting something your delicate baby will consume, in a material that could possibly be toxic will be avoided at all costs.

This is one of only two, non toxic baby bottles on our list that have a rubber nipple, all others have silicone nipples. Although rubber is a bit better for the environment compared to silicone, it breaks down faster. The rubber nipples should be replaced every 6-8 weeks.
